A Few Simple Tips To Remember To Make A Bath More Relaxing

Firstly let us look at ways of pampering your guests and how to ensure that they can have a relaxing bath which is made for ingredients that you have in your kitchen. First of all why not start with plain rock salt you can either leave it in the size it is (cleanses a persons skin more effectively) or else you can grind it down. Then to make the salt that little more special there are any number of herbs that can be added to it such as lavender, lemongrass or chamomile or your could add some dried flowers instead (roses, daisies). What you need to do is mix 1 cup of rock salt (or choose Epsom Salts instead) and to this add the ingredients that you have decided upon (remember the more of the ingredient you add to the salt the more fragrant the bath mixture will be. In fact why not make a visit to your local health food store and see what organic herbs or flowers they have that can be used in order to make the bath even more relaxing. Another tip in order to make a bath more relaxing for your guests it to add a small amount of your favourite perfume or essential oil (mix this with carrier oil). Not only will this add more depth to the smell that the dried flowers you have used and will be released when added to the hot bath water. Once mixed put into either a pretty jar or bottle which can be used as a decoration in the guest bathroom. Another way of creating a relaxing bath for any guests you have is to place the fragrant herbs or flowers into a muslin or dye free cloth bag and can then be placed into the bath like a tea bag or if you want just place it in the drawers of the guests room. Remember do not use a bag that has been dyed or else this will leak out into the bath and may well stain the bath as well. Another method is to use unfragranced oils (however you will need more time to produce this). Place the oil in to a pretty jar or bottle then add dried herbs or flowers (dont forget to pick those that not only look pretty but smell good as well). Place a cork in bottle or a top on the jar and allow them to stand in a cool area for a few weeks. As time goes by the fragrance of the herbs or flowers will pervade into oil thus providing another way of giving your guests a relaxing bath. When decorating the guests bathroom prior to their visits its important to remember that the little things will matter the most to them. Think about things that any guest may need such as a rich moisturizing cream or lotion, a mirror, shampoo and conditioner, comb, toothbrush and toothpaste. It might also be worthwhile getting a lint brush as well for their clothes. Also when looking to decorate a guest bathroom it is important to consider that you want to make your guest feel special. By placing a nice basket with all the items you have collected along with any instructions on how to make a relaxing bath will make your guests feeling extra special (almost like royalty). Why not place plenty of towels along with a bathrobe if you can in the bathroom and try and spend time each day keeping the guest bathroom clean (even if it just giving a wipe down each day). So hopefully now that you have learned how to not only produce a relaxing bath but how to decorate a bathroom to make your guests feeling more special then you should be prepared for any visitors that you have (even your in-laws). 5 Facts You Need To Know About Depression

By Chris Green Around 18 million US citizens suffer from stress, depression and anxiety every year and for many of them, understanding why they endure the torment is difficult to establish. This is because of the many magic bullet myths associated with these problems. Here are five such myths along with the root cause as to why stress, anxiety and depression arise. 1. Chemical imbalances within the brain. This is a theory with no proven clinical evidence to support it. The theory alleges that low levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain cause people to suffer from anxiety, stress or depression. Drug therapy is used to treat the imbalance. But there is no test to establish levels of these chemicals before patients are prescribed drugs and therefore, no way of knowing which chemicals are depleted and which ones arent. So theres no way of measuring success either. Another issue: Over seventy percent of people who stop taking antidepressants enter into second and further episodes of stress, anxiety or depression. For another one third, they are totally ineffective. But if chemical imbalances havent been proven to cause these problems, why are they being treated? 2. Nutritionally deficient diet, either not eating enough fresh food or eating way too much junk food. There are many people throughout the world who dont eat a good diet. Most of our forefathers wouldve struggled to eat the recommended 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every day. Does this mean all of these people suffered from stress, depression or anxiety? Highly unlikely. And I know people whose diet is largely junk and they dont suffer from stress, depression or anxiety. Also, does it mean that everybody who eats a nutritionally sound diet wont suffer from these problems? Again, and I include myself in this, there are people who eat a balanced, nutritionally sound diet but suffer from stress, depression or anxiety. Why? 3. Toxins. The premise here is that as our air is polluted, containing harmful, poisonous or toxic chemicals, the air we breathe is causing more and more people to enter into stressful or depressive episodes. If that is the case, then everybody who lives in a modern city New York, LA, Tokyo, Athens, Paris, London, Mexico City, Rome, Berlin, Chicago, Moscow, etc. must all be enduring the misery of mental torment because each of them breathe the same polluted air. Is this so? Of course not. And by the same rule, does it mean that if you live outside polluted cities, in coastal towns or villages in the beautiful countryside etc. then youre immune from mental trauma? Certainly it does not. 4. Trauma. This means that if you encounter a traumatic event, say death of a loved one, or moving home or relationship breakdown for example, such an event can cause stress, depression or anxiety. But such events happen to every human being and not all of them become depressed. This means that events cannot cause these problems, but the way we respond to them can. 5. Genetics. If your parents suffered these problems, you will too. This does hold a little truth. Because while there is no genetic link to these problems, you can learn the modes of behavior that cause these problems from parents throughout childhood. So, if your parents reacted to events in their lives in ways that caused them to be stressed, depressed or anxious, you will learn them too. The good news is that just as you learned them you can unlearn them. The problem with all of the above is that they shift focus from outside yourself to try and find a magic bullet (drugs, diet, events, genetics, toxins) when the answer to them lies within yourself. None of the above can cause depression and therefore, you cannot find a cure by addressing them. Curing stress, depression and anxiety can only be done by treating the root cause and that root cause lies in the way you make sense out of everything in your life. Once the root cause has been successfully addressed using a combination of knowledge, understanding and personal skills, stress, depression and anxiety will never cause you anguish ever again. Weight Loss: Does Breakfast Count?

By Donovan Baldwin One set of statistics I recently saw said that about 25% of Americans skip breakfast. Another set said that nearly one-third (33%) of Americans are obese. Is there a correlation between eating breakfast and being overweight? Will eating breakfast be a significant factor in a weight loss program. The answer to those questions is yes…er, I mean no…or maybe I mean maybe. While there seems to have been no definitive studies linking breakfast and weight loss directly, there does seem to be a mathematical relationship between skipping breakfast and gaining weight. There also seems to be other evidence that eating breakfast can be a factor in weight loss for some people. As I often point out, weight gain and weight loss, is very seldom the result of a single action or omission. However, like activity, nutrition, rest, cortisol, and chocolate ice cream (my sin), eating breakfast can and should be an important part of any weight loss program, even if just to help prevent any further weight gain. PREVENTING WEIGHT GAIN One significant aspect of eating breakfast is that it can definitely be a weapon against weight gain. Someone who does not eat breakfast (and we aren’t talking about coffee and donuts) is more likely to snack later in the day, and is more likely to eat more food at meals than if they had eaten breakfast. A large portion of this is simply due to fluctuations of blood sugar and other chemicals related to hunger and stress which can be toned down by the simple act of starting the day with a healthy meal of some kind. LOSS OF ENERGY People who skip breakfast are more likely to run out of energy earlier in the day. Simple equation here. Less energy = less activity = less calories burned + snacking and overeating = X or Y or something. What do you think? Maybe creeping weight gain? LACK OF ATTENTION AND POOR PERFORMANCE School children in particular, but even the guy at the next desk, may have trouble keeping up with lessons, work, life if they skipped breakfast. It’s no problem for you because you ate breakfast right? DON’T LIKE TO EAT BREAKFAST? Everybody’s got an excuse. I don’t have time. I don’t like to eat breakfast. There’s nothing to eat in the house. The dog ate my breakfast. Come on. We’re all grownups here. When we know that doing something is good for us, not doing it is bad for us, and it’s simple to do, refusing to do it is childish. Nobody said breakfast has to be a gourmet meal. A peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk and a banana is better than nothing. A bowl of cereal takes less than a minute to prepare and less than five minutes to eat. There are a multitude of nutritious breakfast bars available. You don’t even have to eat them at the house. Keep them in your desk drawer or stick one in your pocket or purse as you leave the house. Sure beats munching on a Hershey bar from the machine and raiding the candy bowl on the receptionist’s desk! LET’S HAVE SOME BREAKFAST If you want to control your weight, fight fatigue and prepare yourself to cope with stress throughout the day, Start the day off right with breakfast. Long Term Green Tea Consumption and Body Fat

By Jon Stout Many people find that they gain weight as they get older. It seems to be a fact of life for many of us; as we age we put on a few pounds. Its no secret that our metabolism starts to slow down as we age; even as early as age 30. However, there does seem to be a simple secret weapon that can prevent the pounds from creeping on as we get older. Its no secret that Asian countries have far lower incidences of overweight and obesity than most other parts of the world. And, even as they age, Asians dont seem to put on the age related pounds that plague many cultures. And, of course, its no secret that Asians drink large amounts of green tea. And, there seems to be a connection between these two facts. Green tea has been reported to have many health benefits, including preventing disease and weight gain. Green tea consumption has been shown to reduce the risk of many forms of cancer, lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease. Green tea has also been shown to help regulate insulin, which may help prevent or control diabetes. Other studies have shown that green tea can help with weight loss, as it seems to speed the metabolism and promote fat loss. Green tea seems to have a unique ability to promote thermogenesis, or fat burning. For these reasons, it seems that being a lifelong green tea drinker may mean that you have less chance of putting on a few pounds each year as you get older. In addition to the abundant anecdotal evidence available by comparing the statistics on obesity in Asian countries to that of European and North American countries, there is also quite a bit of research to back up the theory that drinking green tea regularly over a period of years may lead to lower weight and less body fat. One particularly interesting study on this subject was conducted by the Department of Family Medicine, National Cheng Kung University Hospital in Taiwan. This study looked at over 1200 subjects, both male and female. They compared the tea drinking habits of the participants and evaluated their percentage of body fat and body fat distribution based on waist to hip ratios. Waist to hip ratios are important because we know that fat carried around the hips and waist are more likely to lead to heart disease than fat carried on other places on the body. The study concluded that tea drinkers were less likely to have an unhealthy percentage of body fat, and were more likely to have positive waist to hip ratios. In fact, those participants who had been tea drinkers for more than 10 years showed an average of 19% less body fat and a waist to hip ratio of 2.1% less than that of non-habitual tea drinkers. But even those participants who had been habitual tea drinkers for just six months showed improved statistics over those participants who were not habitual tea drinkers. This study denoted several factors that appeared to have either positive or negative effect on a persons body fat percentage and body fat distribution. The factors they rated were as follows: Smoking Smoking was associated with higher body fat and higher waist to hip ratio. Age Older Age was associated with higher body fat and higher waist to hip ratio. Body Mass Index Higher body mass index was associated with higher body fat and a higher hip to waist ratio. Pre/post menopausal Pre-menopausal women were more likely to have a lower percentage of body fat and a lower waist to hip ratio than post menopausal women. Habitual Tea Drinking Habitual tea drinkers had lower waist to hip ratios and lower percentages of body fat. Physical Exercise Those who exercised regularly had lower percentages of body fat and lower waist to hip ratios. So, as you can see, there are several lifestyle factors that affect whether or not your weight creeps up as you age. Of course, age itself is a factor we cant control, as is going through menopause. However, what we can learn from this study is that getting regular exercise, refraining from smoking and drinking tea regularly throughout your life can help you avoid gaining weight as you get older. Adding green tea to your diet is a simple way to help protect your health and prevent weight gain. As more and more research has revealed green teas health benefits, it has become easier to find. Today, green tea can be found in loose or bag form for brewing at home and bottled form for those who want convenient chilled green tea. Even those trendy coffee houses now offer a green tea selection on your menu. And, if you cant get enough of a dose of green tea by drinking it, there are green tea supplements on the market that carry the anti-oxidants of green tea in pill form. A man can feel challenged by other women, afraid of how close your relationship is turning, and a man can also feel unneeded or unwanted at home. Those are top reasons, why a man is going to turn to someone else for an intimate relationship, but it doesnt mean that you cant get passed this stage and turn him into the loving mature one woman man you wish he would be. Think about what your man is getting from another woman. Does she listen to him, does she do sexual things you wont, does she give him food and drink to calm him, or does the other woman give him a package deal of silence and sex that you dont? After you concluded, about what he is getting from other women; you need to add that to your relationship. Perhaps you are not communicating, or talking too much all the time. Perhaps you are hard to get into bed, or that you are just not a challenge to him anymore. Spice up your life using the many topics you have found she offers him but you are not. If you are able to find out what she is offering that you cant or dont, use this for your own advantage, and take that need away from him by fulfilling it. How To Keep Him And Maintain The Relationship Keeping and maintaining a relationship is going to be difficult, and with him constantly chasing other women, it is going to be even more difficult. First, the two of you are going to have to talk the subject of disease, if his relationships are sexual with other women. As you tell your man that you dont want to end up with aids just because he cant keep his pants on, it will get your point across to him. If you are able to track and know what he is doing, when he is with her, these are the nights or the days, when you want to offer yourself to him. As he is satisfied, he is less likely to want to go to her and satisfy her. Yes, it is going to be difficult at first, thinking about why you are having sex, and an intimate relationship but if you truly want to hold on to him, you need to fill those gaps, stopping his need for her. If sex and intimacy is not the problem, perhaps it is your schedule or his schedule. Is one or both of your heading off to work while the other is at home? You need to have schedules that are similar, so you can spend more time together. Get a hobby the two of you like and do it. For example, if you know your man loves to go to the movies, make it a point to see a new movie with him at least once a week for the next few weeks. This is going to increase your time together, and it will nurture your relationship at the same time. If you find that your man is turning to another woman because you are not able to communicate well in the relationship, make it a point to start talking with him. Get up when he is leaving for work, or be awake when he is coming home from work so you can make it a point to be there for him. As you learn to talk to your man, and share feelings, and things that happen during the day you are going to fill the need, preventing him from wanting to talk and share with another woman. What Should You Do or Not Do? To hold onto a man, and to get passed his turning to other women you have a few choices. The hardest is going to be forgiving him and getting passed the thought of what another woman is offering him. You can ask him straight out about what she has that you dont, but you may hear a few things that are spiteful and hurtful, as a fight starts, that you will never be able to forgive. To get passed the idea of your man being with another woman you have to feel and believe that both of you are trying. Dont talk about her. Dont ask if she was good. Dont ask if she is still calling him. In the long run, you are going to know if he is still talking to her and it will come to an end if he is. Make it a point to tell him you know about the other women, and that you are going to put an end to it. Make your point known to him, by telling him you want the family, you and him and the children to be together. Dont cry and throw a fit. Dont show more emotions, which are going to show you, are vulnerable to his every move. Do be more confident as you talk and control your emotions.
